The Donkey Sanctuary exists to protect donkeys from cruelty and neglect and to provide homes for those that are in need of protective care and those that can no longer be cared for by their owners. Over 4,600 donkeys from all parts of Ireland have been taken into our care here in Ireland since The Donkey Sanctuary in Ireland was set up.
Suitable, fit donkeys may be found homes through our rehoming scheme and those needing more intensive care and ongoing veterinary treatment become permanent residence.
We have no membership fee - any donation, whatever the amount, is most gratefully received.
Donations received within Ireland are used entirely to fund the work of The Donkey Sanctuary within Ireland.
