The Donkey Sanctuary (Ireland) Ltd is a registered charity which has been protecting donkeys in Ireland for over 30 years. The charity has 4 farms and over 1800 donkeys in its care.
We have an exciting opportunity for 2 Farm Supervisors to join our busy Farms Team. You will supervise and manage the operational activities and people management on our farms under the guidance of the Farms Manager and deputise in his absence, when required.
Possessing substantial equine experience, you will provide care and rehabilitation for donkeys, mules, ponies and hinnies; including all welfare, animal first aid, husbandry and staffing responsibilities, and maintain the buildings and areas and farm the land in accordance with the Care and Welfare Code of Practice. Experience of operating farm machinery is essential, as is a high level of IT skill as you will be assisting with rotas and maintaining staff records. Working closely with the Farm Manager and the accounts team, you will assist with the preparation and management of yearly budgets, raise purchase orders and resolve invoice queries. Excellent communication skills, people management and an excellent understanding of customer service are required for this role as you will be engaging with members of the public and supporters of the charity. A full valid driving licence is also essential for this role.
These are both full-time, permanent contracts working 39 hours per week, 5 days over 7 as part of a rota.
