It is with a heavy heart that we tell you that our former adoption donkey Jacinta was sadly put to sleep due to chronic laminitis. Jacinta was born in the Sanctuary on 15th May 1997 to rescued mum Lorraine.
Jacinta retired from her adoption duties in March 2011 when her laminitis became painful and she required special care at our facilities at Hannigan’s Farm. Since then she has received expert care, love and attention from the farm and veterinary staff. Jacinta was a very playful donkey. She was often seen kicking her football around the yard. She loved to play a game of football with the other donkeys – and she always won!
We would like to thank all of you who previously adopted Jacinta and ensured that she had a great quality of life for the 17 years that she spent here with us. She will be greatly missed by all.
