61 donkeys came into our Isolation Unit this week... some of them coming from very sad situations where their owners loved them but for various reasons could not look after them any more.
Most however came from lives of abuse, neglect and abandonment. Two of these donkeys, Claremorris and Marley, came from very similar circumstances. Claremorris who is a 5 year old stallion, came from Co Mayo with very long hooves and covered in lice. He was abandoned onto land and left to fend for himself. Marley, also a 5 year old stallion, was left on the side of the road in Co Limerick with his front and hind legs curling and sores visible on his hind quarter and neck.
Claremorris and Marley are now being cared for in our Isolation Unit along with the other donkeys where Brian and his staff will ensure that they all get the very best chance of a happy new life.

We are economical - our administration costs are kept to a minimum. We are also practical and make a large percentage of our own hay but, with such a large donkey family, special feed, veterinary treatment and stabling, it costs us a great deal of money.
