Tiffany and Noelie were left to starve in a field

Tiffany and Noelie

Tiffany seen here on the right came to the Sanctuary in February 1997 along with 6 other donkeys that were left to starve in a field in Co Wexford. She was in very bad condition with overgrown hooves and very thin. It was subsequently discovered that she was in foal and in August 1997 she gave birth to a colt foal. We called this little fellow Noelie. Tiffany was a brilliant mother to Noelie and they became very close.

In June 2000 Tiffany and Noelie were fostered to a lovely home and lived happily there until 2008 when the foster owners had to sell their land and both donkeys were returned to us.

Tiffany and Noelie have been back at the Sanctuary for over 18 months, however staff who are looking after them, feel that they would be much happier in a home environment. They now reside in our foster group at Knockardbane in preparation for rehoming, They can be seen by the ring fort shed on the right hand side of the fort walk.

We have some homes now ready for placement of donkeys, and it’s hoped that when these two donkeys have passed all their medicals, that they will be moving to a new home shortly. Any foster home will be very lucky to have these two beautiful donkeys join their animal family. We will keep you updated on Tiffany and Noelie’s adventures.

If you would like information on fostering please contact our welfare department here at the Sanctuary and we will be only too happy to send you an information pack.
