Leroy and Jack

Leroy and Jack

In November due to a change in circumstances, two beautiful donkeys Leroy and Jack were relinquished to us by the Harvey family in Co Mayo. These two donkeys were very well cared for, and very much loved by all who knew them. The family were very emotional when our Area Welfare Officer Patricia Daly called to collect them and many hugs and kisses came their way.

The family have told us many stories about Leroy and Jack and their mischievous antics while growing up on the farm. Here we can see them stealing the hosepipe that their owner had put down while washing the car; they ran off down the passage with no mercy for the hose. They were always partners in crime and any mischief that was done they were both in it together side by side.

Today Leroy and Jack are thriving in the comfort of our Isolation Unit at Hannigan’s Farm and the Harvey family can wash their car in peace with the reassurance that their two boys are well cared for here at the Sanctuary.
