I know some four legged friends that would give their right hoof for some of fundraiser Julie's delicious baking but like us, donkeys have to watch their figures too! Instead it was Julie’s lucky family and neighbours in Co Kildare that came in for an extra special treat last month when Julie, aged nine, held a cake sale at her house – with no less than 6 different pastry delights.

Julie called with her family to the Visitor Information Centre to personally deliver the proceeds of her cake sale on August 5th to Noel Carton Head of Operations who was extreemly impressed by Julie's fundraiser. Noel said 'Its wonderful to see even in this tough economic climate that people with heats of gold like Julie allow us to continue our work, we rely entirely on donations to fund the work that we do'. While visiting us Julie fell in love with one particular donkey and purchased one of our new ‘Off the Shelf’ Adoption packs which came with a cool glossy bag on which there was a picture of her beloved donkey Julie Anne – her namesake!
