Christmas crib

Stained glass donkey

Each year we welcome the festive season to the Sanctuary with our Christmas Crib in one of the barns from Monday 8th December 2008 through to Tuesday 6th January 2009 and we will be announcing the winners of the Christmas raffle on Wednesday 10th December.

We also have a beautiful nativity scene which was donated to us in 2001 by Mrs Kay Gorevan. Back in the 1920s Clearys, a large department store in Dublin, used to dress their window at Christmas with a nativity scene. Mrs Gorevan's husband used to be the store manager and for a long time the figures were stored in their loft. Some of the figures are over a 100 years old and stand over 3ft tall!

Because this event is so popular, we have named one of our barns Crib Barn which is just opposite the Visitors' Centre.

Children from local schools will be joining us to sing carols around the Crib in the barn with our donkeys hopefully joining in!

If you are thinking of coming along, please let us know.
