We feel that it is vital to educate the public about donkey welfare, and the proper way to care for donkeys in order to help stop cruelty and neglect
In order to facilitate this, we have a dedicated team of staff that visit schools, clubs and different groups throughout Ireland to talk to people about the work that we do. We also welcome groups to visit us here in Liscarroll where we provide an educational talk on the history of the Sanctuary and we offer donkey grooming so that visitors can see first hand what amazing animals donkeys are. After you have heard some funny donkey stories you will be free to stroll around our beautiful walkways and meet our donkey foals and mules.
We do not charge for our talks or group visits, but as we are a charity, any donation is gratefully accepted and we strongly encourage groups of all ages to undertake a fundraising activity, where possible, to actively raise much needed funds. Groups that have fund-raised for the donkeys and then came to meet them and see exactly where the money goes really have a satisfying experience. If you require any ideas or support our fundraising team would be delighted to provide you with information.
It's advisable to bring wellington boots and warm clothes, if the weather is bad.
