The Donkey Sanctuary are looking for companies that share our values: compassion, collaboration and creativity.
We hope to encourage staff engagement by getting employees on board with the partnership and passionate about the cause: this can open a lot of doors.
We are searching for a creative project which helps both parties stand out. We believe that a more creative approach can really capture the public imagination and raise the profile of both parties.
Corporate sponsorship allows both parties to enhance the authority, credibility and authenticity of what they are both saying. Businesses and charities can achieve more by working together to address social and environmental issues than by working alone.
A strong, ongoing partnership also has the power to make a sustainable, long term impact.
We are very grateful to Aldi for making a very generous donation of €500 to us in August 2016. The staff of Aldi Mitchelstown chose The Donkey Sanctuary to be a beneficiary of their fundraising efforts, their donation will go towards the care and welfare of our donkeys and mules.
Get your company involved with The Donkey Sanctuary
We are currently caring for over 1,800 donkeys in Ireland, in recent years we have rescued a record amount of donkeys and mules and we are now struggling to stay afloat. We would love if you could get involved in our fundraising efforts and help us to provide shelter and protection to thousands of animals that need us.
Why work with the Donkey Sanctuary
The Donkey Sanctuary is in operation for 28 years and is the largest animal charity in the world. The Donkey Sanctuary operates in over thirty countries throughout the world and is a centre of excellence for the care and welfare of donkeys and mules. The Sanctuary is expanding accordingly to accommodate the amount of donkeys in our care and in order to ensure a prosperous future for the donkeys and mules in Ireland we need your help.
The running costs for The Sanctuary amounts to over €4 million per year. This money goes towards feeding such as hay and straw that the donkeys require daily. Donkeys that are rescued in poor conditions require feeding supplements, mineral licks, winter rugs, farrier care, a visit from the Equine Dental Technician, regular vet checks, vaccinations and any extra medical treatments that may be required.
How your company can help:
Companies can give strong commitment to give something back to society and contribute towards their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This will benefit the company as well as the donkeys.
Your company involvement can improve the health and wellbeing of donkeys and boost morale among your workforce. We welcome groups to The Sanctuary where we provide an informative insight into the work carried out and we are happy to provide guided tours of the stunning grounds. We would also be happy to organise a session for your team to meet and greet the donkeys and participate in donkey walking and grooming.
Your staff can support us by organising a coffee morning, a non-uniform day, participating in a 5k/10k or doing something totally different.
There is also a fantastic initiative known as ‘Payroll Giving’ which is a tax-effective scheme whereby the donation is taken from an employee's pay before tax is deducted. This is a very effective and efficient method of donating.
Testimonial from Sally, Raw-Group
'We chose The Donkey Sanctuary because they are both a local charity and carry out tremendous work for the donkeys and mules in Ireland. It is a lovely. place to visit and enjoy the relaxing surroundings and of course meet the donkeys. Raw-Group are happy that we could contribute to the care and welfare of these lovely animals'
The benefits of Corporate Sponsorship:
We would be delighted if you could sponsor a donkey in need and we would provide great publicity on the sponsorship. As well as saving the life of a neglected donkey you could also gain great publicity and boost your Corporate Social Responsibility. We would be happy to attend your workplace and provide an informative presentation on the work that we do and you and your staff are more than welcome to visit us here in Liscarroll to see first-hand the work that is carried out.
Companies that have helped us:
Dell staff volunteer at The Donkey Sanctuary!
We were delighted to recently welcome a large group of volunteers from Dell in Cork, Limerick and Dublin last Friday in a bid to help out with the donkeys. We put together a list of tasks and activities for the volunteers and we had the best time! Tasks included putting on head collars, picking donkeys feet etc. and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all.
We were also delighted that Raw-Group and Johnson and Johnson got involved in our corporate fundraising by making generous donations this year and we hope that more businesses will be generous towards our worthy cause in 2016.
Depuy Synthes invited us to a family fun day in Ringaskiddy in June 2015 and made a generous donation that will help us to care for the donkeys in our care.
The mission of The Donkey Sanctuary is to transform the quality of life for donkeys, mules and people through greater understanding, collaboration and support. The Sanctuary has been in operation for 28 years and in order for us to reach our goals we need some financial assistance and we are desperately appealing to you to help us.
