Truffles is 26 years old and came to the Sanctuary in early 1989 with her friend Whisky. After Whisky’s death, Truffles and Aoife teamed up and they are both now living in the ‘oldies’ group of donkeys at Hannigan’s Farm

Truffles had enjoyed good health until arthritis set into her hips and feet of late. Her care is now tailored to manage this and ensure that she is comfortable.

Aoife was relinquished to the Sanctuary all the way back in 1987 and is a relative youngster at 23. She is inseparable from Truffles and has had patches of poor health over the years - feet problems and skin problems. She will often wear a lightweight rug, even in the Summer to protect her.

Aoife loves attention too and they were both very friendly and placid when being photographed for the Spring newsletter.
